Sub-Zero is widely known for its comprehensive product warranty. The warranty is activated when you register a product by setting up an account, completing an online registration form, or contacting the Sub-Zero Customer Care Team. You can also mail a completed warranty registration card with your new refrigerator. Here, we’ll detail what a Sub-Zero fridge warranty covers (and for how long) to help you understand its terms.

The company’s coverage generally includes a:

  • Full Two-Year Warranty: Starting at the date of installation, your product is covered for two years (three years with factory-certified installation). The warranty covers all parts and labor. Any repair or replacement is fully covered if there are defects in materials or workmanship during normal residential use. This warranty also requires Sub-Zero Factory Certified Service to be performed during regular business hours.
  • Full Five-Year Sealed System Warranty: If the compressor, condenser, evaporator, filter-drier, and associated tubing are proven defective under normal use, repair or replacement is covered. Like with the basic warranty, this applies only to factory-certified service performed during normal work hours.
  • Limited Twelve-Year Sealed System Warranty: Sealed system components are covered if proven defective in materials or workmanship. Repair or replacement of parts is covered when Sub-Zero Factory Certified Service is used. However, the appliance owner pays for labor and other costs. If they use a non-certified service, they must receive repaired or replacement parts from Sub-Zero (the company won’t reimburse you for parts purchased elsewhere).
  • Limited 60-Day Parts and Labor Warranty: Covers cosmetic defects for components of the stainless steel door, including panels, handles, interior surfaces, and product frames. However, the Sub-Zero fridge warranty doesn’t cover replacement water filters and air purification cartridges.

Additional Warranty Options

Sub-Zero also offers a non-residential limited warranty that covers defects in materials and workmanship for one year. An outdoor limited warranty provides similar coverage but applies only to products intended for outdoor use. A display products warranty applies to display products sold more than three years from the invoice date.

A Sub-Zero fridge warranty is only good for products installed in the United States and Canada. It does not cover parts or labor to correct defects caused by accidents, negligence, or improper use.

What Is Factory Certified Service?

When you receive factory-certified service, your appliance is repaired by factory-trained professionals, who receive training the year the product is released. These technicians must work on Sub-Zero products for two years while developing their knowledge of each product. The service provider will also know whether a defective part is under an extended part warranty and ensure it’s available to you.
